The New York Islanders have been cleared to resume their 2021-22 schedule and will contest their next regularly-scheduled game, Thursday vs. the San Jose Sharks at UBS Arena, the National Hockey League announced today. The decision was made by the League in consultation with its medical experts.
Islanders games against the New York Rangers (Nov. 28) and Philadelphia Flyers (Nov. 30) were postponed last week as a result of up to eight Islanders Players potentially unavailable to play due to COVID Protocol, as well as the possibility of additional cases due to spread. The League is in the process of revising the Islanders' regular season schedule, which will be announced when completed.
The Islanders organization has followed, and will continue to follow, all recommended guidelines aimed at protecting the health and safety of its Players, staff and community at large as set by the NHL, local, state and national agencies.
