Nelson-Kid

The names on the backs of the jerseys looked familiar on Friday morning, but the players in them were miniature versions of their all-star dads.
That was the case with Brock Nelson and his five-year-old son Beckett, who were burning up FLA Live Arena together on Friday morning.

The Nelsons were skating with the Larkins and the Tarasenkos, while taking shots on Roberto Luongo's son. While the Michigan might not be in Brock Nelson's bag of tricks, Beckett was all about it, trying out the move on the mini Luongo.

"Beckett was fired up we saw [David] Pastrnak earlier," Nelson said. "He wants to see Sorokin, he wants to be Bo, so he's fired up for that. We ran into a couple other guys too last night at the hotel. We saw [Rasmus] Dahlin. He's trying to figure out all the guys and put faces to their teams and put it together."
Beckett Nelson was all smiles, shooting, passing and taking a squirt of water from his dad, while Nelson's wife, Karley, took photos from the bench.
"It's just it's so fun. We thought it was going to be a quick skate, but we might be out here for a while," Nelson said. "He was looking forward to this day for a long time as was our whole family. My wife and I, it's fun to kind of share with him and to see how excited he is to be out here. It definitely makes it worth it."
