LINEUP NOTES:
Barry Trotz did not reveal his lineup or goalies for Thursday's game against the Rangers.
Casey Cizikas (lower body), Andrew Ladd (lower body) and Matt Martin (upper body) were all put on injured reserve Thursday morning, so they will not play. As a result Stephen Gionta and Michael Dal Colle were recalled from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Gionta is likely to play as the Isles are down to three healthy centers without Cizikas, while Dal Colle's status is up in the air as he stayed on for extra work after morning skate.

ISLES ON THE RANGERS RIVALRY:
There's always a buzz when the Islanders and Rangers face off and the Isles said they were excited for Thursday's game against their arch rivals.
The Islanders have owned the rivalry over the past three seasons, going 11-1-0 since the start of 2015-16. The Isles have won seven in a row against the Rangers and are 6-0-0 at Barclays Center. Barzal has been especially good vs the Rangers, recording 10 points (3G, 7A) in four career games vs the blueshirts.
Cal Clutterbuck on the rivalry:
"It's a great atmosphere and geographically the proximity really lends itself to having both fanbases in one building at the same time. These people live their lives intertwined with each other every day and there's a constant banter when you bring up the Islanders, one of the first things out of people's mouths is something about the Rangers and I'm sure it's the same for Rangers guys. It's fun to be a part of a rivalry that get to be a part of every day and not just on game days."

Mathew Barzal on getting up to play vs the Rangers:
"It's always kind of fun to be playing another team in New York, same with the Devils. It's a cool in-state rivalry and storied rivalry too. Just an exciting game for both sides and everyone should be excited for the game."
Anders Lee on what he remembers from his first Isles-Rangers game:
"There's just a different feeling to it. You step on the ice and there's a few more people in the stands for warmups and it's rocking during the national anthem and there's just a lot of ruckus going on. It's a game full of energy and it's a divisional game and you play these guys four or five times a year and things can get heated and you know for the most part we've been two pretty solid teams who have matched up pretty well."
