Travis Hamonic Returning to the Lineup:

Originally thought to be out 4-6 weeks with an upper-body injury, Travis Hamonic is returning well ahead of schedule to play in Monday's game.
"We felt like there was a chance I could be back a lot sooner than originally anticipated," Hamonic said. "I had a chance to skate while the guys were on the road and I felt pretty good. I feel comfortable."
Hamonic said his hand injury shouldn't impact his play on the defensive end or his ability to handle the puck and bring it up the ice.
"I'll probably handle the puck as good as I usually do," Hamonic said. "I felt fine, where I had the break was on the upper part. I feel like I have no limitations on what I can normally do."
Coach Jack Capuano is using seven defensemen on Monday, so if Hamonic has any setbacks, Capuano has an alternate option in Scott Mayfield.
"I just want to make sure we're secure on the back end," Capuano said. "Travis is good to go. We don't play till Friday and the top guys will get a little more ice time tonight and try to get some more offense in our attack."

Seidenberg Injured, Mayfield Recalled:

Dennis Seidenberg (upper body) was placed on injured reserve on Monday morning and is out indefinitely. In wake of Seidenberg's injury, the Islanders recalled Scott Mayfield from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
"We all see injuries and whatnot happen, you just have to be ready at all times," Mayfield said. "You just have to keep working, I always knew I'd get my shot and I just have to take advantage of it now."
Mayfield had a goal and an assist in 12 games for the Sound Tigers, who are off to an 8-4 start this season. Mayfield becomes the third Sound Tigers defenseman recalled by the Islanders this season, joining Adam Pelech and Ryan Pulock with the Islanders.
"It's been really good and we've been playing a good team game. The guys are all buying into the system that they're preaching on the Island. We're following the same organizational goals. We're 8-4 so we're having a decent start. My game individually, I feel like I've progressed over the first couple of weeks.

Lightning Lineup Notes:

Andrei Vasilevskiy is likely to start in goal for the Lightning, as he was the first goalie off the ice at Monday's morning skate. Vasilevskiy started and won the last meeting between the teams on Thursday night. Anton Stralman and Jonathan Drouin are both out of the lineup.
