Fathers Day chiefs

Hockey dads are the foundation for any youth hockey player. They sacrifice sleep for early-morning practices, load up the car with smelly gear to drive to games, help coach and are always there for support, win or lose. Long Island has some of the best hockey dads in the game, so we asked you to share some stories about the fantastic dads in our midst.
Happy Father's Day to all the hockey dads out there!

BEST DAD
My dad has been an Islander fan and hockey player since he was a little boy. Going to as many games as he could in a season, it's no wonder he knows so much about the game. Not only is he my biggest fan, but he has coached and taught me how to play the game of hockey. I thank him for all the years he has been by my side on and off the ice. I could not have been the player I am today without him.
To My Dad, Coach and Friend
Happy Fathers Day!

From a very young age, my dad loved hockey. He was very into it and he wanted me to feel the same way. One night, my dad and I were watching a hockey game and I said to him that I wanted to play. He was so happy, and he supported me for as much as I wanted to do.
My dad is a great hockey dad because he pays for all my hockey equipment when I need it. Anything that I need, he goes out and gets for me because he wants me to be the best I can possibly be. He goes on many hockey trips with me and we have a blast together. I like going on trips with him because we can bond together, and this is very important to me. I love how we are always able to talk about hockey and what we both think about certain things. My dad always encourages me to be the best on the ice and when I am struggling, he always helps me and teaches me how to fix it. My dad is very driven to help me and when I am doing bad, he is honest with me and tells me what I should fix. I am very happy that I have such an encouraging, helpful, and motivating dad that can help me do anything in the world!

My hockey dad is the best dad you can have. He takes me to every tournament and game. He pushes me to be the best I can and gets me where I need to be. After a game we always go over the game, what I did well and what needs work. He's always helping me to improve my game.
Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Hockey Dads 3

Dylan Marszalek- PAL Junior Islanders
There are so many things that my dad can do and that he is capable of. For example; playing D1 hockey and always having a roof on top of are heads every night. He deserves to have the best day on Sunday. Hopefully, we can spend that time with him without getting him mad because I might of instigate a little bit. At the end of the day, we will always love him.

HOCKEY DAD4

Thomas Keough
My hockey dad is great because he always does whatever he can to get me time on the ice and does what's best for me. My dad is great because is able to deal with me.

Nick Gangi, Massapequa Chiefs
My dad is the best hockey dad I could ask for. He is always there for me. He is at EVERY game and practice from the early winter games at 7 am to the off-ice training in the summer. My dad is also the most supportive person ever. He went as far as to build a hockey rink in my basement so I could practice! I wouldn't want anyone in his place.

Happy Father's Day! My dad is a great hockey dad! He loves and understands the game. He has been playing ice hockey since he was a kid. He's great on the ice! He gives me advice on playing the game and he often practices with me. When my dad is not watching me, we love watching games together. Have a great day, Dad!
