Lee and Nelson Head to World Championships

Islanders forwards to play for Team USA at World Championships from May 5-21

Brock Nelson and Anders Lee will both play for Team USA at the upcoming IIHF World Championships in Cologne, Germany and Paris, France. The annual international tournament runs from May 5-21. 

Lee is coming off a career-best 34 goals and 52 points, while Nelson posted his third-straight, 20-goal season. 

Both Islanders have previous World Championship experience and hardware, as Lee and Nelson both won a bronze medal at the 2015 Worlds. This is the second World Championship appearance for Lee and fourth for Nelson, who led team USA in scoring with 10 points (6G, 4A) in 2015.

Nelson has 21 points (12G, 9A) in 24 World Championship games with Team USA, while Lee scored five points (1G, 4A) in 10 international contests.
