The New York Islanders will select 13th overall at the 2026 NHL Draft on June 26.

The selection was determined at the NHL Draft Lottery on May 5. The Isles entered the night with the 13th-best odds of winning the lottery, so their projected position did not change.

The Islanders picked in the first round three times (1st, 16th and 17th) in the 2025 NHL Draft, which materialized into Matthew Schaefer, Victor Eklund and Kashawn Aitcheson respectively.

The last time the Islanders held the 13th pick was in 1987 when they selected Dean Chynoweth. The Islanders also selected Derek King 13th overall in 1985.

The 2026 NHL Draft will take place in Buffalo, New York with Round 1 happening on Friday, June 26 and Rounds 2-7 on Saturday, June 27. The Toronto Maple Leafs will select the first-overall pick and the San Jose Sharks will pick second overall.
