Oliver Wahlstrom is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, the Islanders announced on Saturday afternoon.
Head Coach Barry Trotz did not specify Wahlstrom's status for Sunday's matinee against the Montreal Canadiens. The 21-year-old forward has 19 points (10G, 9A) in 41 games this season.
While Wahlstrom was absent from Saturday's practice, Josh Bailey was on the ice after missing Thursday's game with an upper-body injury. Bailey has 21 points (3G, 18A) in 38 games this season.
The team also announced that goaltender Semyon Varlamov is back on Long Island, but is still in COVID-19 protocol. Varlamov entered protocol last Saturday in Calgary and had to satisfy Alberta's quarantine requirements before traveling back to the United States. He is 3-9-1 this season with a 2.57 GAA and a .916 SV%.
