Clutterbuck-Mayfield

Cal Clutterbuck and Scott Mayfield were healthy and on the ice Thursday for the
opening of New York Islanders training camp
after
suffering season-ending injuries in 2021-22
.
Clutterbuck suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery in March. Clutterbuck scored six goals and nine assists for 15 points in 59 games last year before missing the final weeks of the season.
"I didn't see any lingering effects at all," Head Coach Lane Lambert said. "He battled well and it's a real positive."
Mayfield suffered a lower body injury from blocking a shot in March that sidelined him for four-to-six weeks, which accounted for the end of the season for all intents and purposes. Mayfield scored three goals and 15 assists for 18 points in 61 games last year.
"I'm feeling 100%," Mayfield said. "I was pretty close at the end of last year, but wasn't fully there yet. Once I started training in the summer, it was 100%."
