DALLAS, TX (June 22, 2018) - The New York Islanders have selected Oliver Wahlstrom in the first round, 11th overall, of the 2018 National Hockey League Draft.
Wahlstrom, 18, scored 83 points (40 goals, 43 assists) in 54 games with the United States Under-18 National Team. He led the team in points, goals and assists.

A native of Quincy, Mass. scored 45 points (22 goals, 23 assists) in 26 games with Team USA of the United States Hockey League. He ranked second in goals and points. Wahlstrom led the USHL in plus/minus with a +30 rating.
On the international stage, Wahlstrom helped Team USA win a silver medal at the 2018 and gold medal at the 2017 at the Under-18 World Junior Championships.
Wahlstom is committed to play college hockey at Boston College.
This marked the second time in franchise history that the Islanders picked 11th overall (1975, P. Price).
