Here are this week's updates on the Islanders prospects:

Newkirk's week with an assist on a power-play goal in a 7-2 victory against the Tri-City Americans on May 5. The 20-year-old center dished out three more during Portland's 5-1 win against the Spokane Chiefs a couple of days later on May 8. One of his three apples came on a power play and another resulted as he helped set up the game-winning goal. The Moose Jaw, SK native capped his week with a helper in Portland's 9-1 drubbing over Tri-City.
With points in every game last week, Newkirk extended his point streak to six games (2G, 6A) and now has 27 points (9G, 18A) in 23 games played this season.

ISKHAKOV AND TPS FALL IN LIIGA FINAL

Ruslan Iskhakov and TPS lost to Lukko three games to one in the best-of-five Liiga Final, ending their season in the championship round.
Iskhakov had a hand in TPS' 4-1 victory in Game 1, feeding a power-play assist on the first goal of the game, but TPS dropped the next three games and lost the series.
The Islanders' 2018 second-round pick (43rd overall) finished the playoffs with seven points (2G, 5A) in 13 games, which is tied for 12th in Liiga playoff scoring.
