DUFOUR'S POINT STREAK REACHES 16 GAMES

Sweet 16.
William Dufour's point streak has now reached 16-straight games with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In total, he's compiled 29 points (12G, 17A) during that stretch.
In the last two games, the Islanders' 2020 fifth rounder (152nd overall) scored his 21st and 22nd goals of the season as he also tallied his seventh and eighth power-play goals of the year.
Dufour notched a power-play goal on Dec. 17 in Saint John's 5-4 loss to Moncton. The following night on Dec. 18, the 19-year-old winger posted a two-point (1G, 1A) performance to earn second star of the game honors with a PPG and assist in the Sea Dogs' 4-3 loss to Acadie Bathurst.
In total, Dufour has registered 47 points (22G, 25A) through 28 games this season. His scoring production is tied for the second most in the entirety of the Q. Dufour and Saint John are ranked seventh overall in the Eastern Conference with a 15-12-3 record.

RATY MISSES WJC

Due to unfortunate, pandemic-related circumstances Aatu Räty will not join Team Finland at the World Junior Championship. As a result of a COVID-19 outbreak hitting his club team, Jukurit, in Liiga, Finland's top-tier professional ice hockey league, Raty's timeline for quarantining didn't allow for him to join Team Finland in time to travel to Canada, where this year's WJC tournament will be hosted. The tournament is scheduled to begin on Dec. 26, 2021 and will conclude on Jan. 5, 2022 in Edmonton and Red Deer, AB.

MALINEN LOANED TO MESTIS

Aleksi Malinen was loaned from JYP U20 in SM-Sarja U20 to KeuPa HT of Mestis, the second-tier league of professional ice hockey in Finland. Through one game with his new club, the 18-year-old defenseman has not yet recorded a point. KeuPa HT currently sits in third place in Mestis with a 15-8-3 record.
