MAGGIO'S BIG WEEK

Matt Maggio scored eight points (4G, 4A) in three games for the Windsor Spitfires over the weekend. Late in the first period against the Ottawa 67s on Thursday, Maggio had a takeaway and then scored a shorthanded goal, after having tallied a primary assist earlier in the game. The Spitfires went on to win 5-3.
Maggio then rattled off two three-point games against the Erie Otters and Hamilton Bulldogs the following days. Maggio tallied primary assists on the game-tying and game-winning goals against the Otters, and added an empty-netter to seal the 4-2 win for the Spitfires, their fifth consecutive victory.
Maggio contributed to all three goals in the 5-3 loss to the Hamilton Bulldogs, with a primary assist to pull the Spitfires to 2-1 early in the game. Maggio then scored two goals in the second to tie the game at 3-3 before they were ultimately defeated.
In the process, Maggio extended his point streak to six games and is tied for fourth in the OHL in scoring with 39 points this year.
