ISKHAKOV POSTS A MULTIPOINT GAME

Ruslan Iskhakov had a hand in the first two goals (1G, 1A) of TPS' 4-3 shootout loss against the Pelicans in Liiga on Thursday.
Iskhakov fed the helper that brought the lead to TPS early in the first, giving him his 27th assist of the season. The Islanders' 2018 second rounder (43rd overall) then scored his 10th goal of the season in the latter half of the second period.
Iskhakov has racked up 37 points through 50 games played. TPS and Iskhakov are currently ranked third overall in the Liiga standings with a 25-18-12 record.

NEWKIRK RECORDS ASSIST

Reece Newkirk dished out an assist in Portland's 6-2 win over Tri-City on Saturday. The helper extended Newkirk's point streak to three games, but the streak ended a day later, in Portland's 4-1 loss to Everett.
Newkirk, the Islanders' 2019 fifth-round draft pick (147th overall), has nine points (3G, 6A) in eight games this season, which is tied for the team lead.
