The New York Islanders open their next road swing against the Ottawa Senators on Monday at the Canadian Tire Centre.
The Islanders come into Monday's game after a 4-3 overtime win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday. The Senators snapped an eight-game winless streak on Saturday with a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

The Islanders have staged third-period comebacks in three of their last four games, and two of those wins have come in overtime. The Islanders have trailed in six of their 10 wins this season.
"It's a hard, hard league," Head Coach Lane Lambert said. "Every game is a hard game. There isn't any free ice out there."
The Senators will honor franchise legend Daniel Alfredsson's induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame after the game, hence the early start time.
The Isles swept the three-game series last season, outscoring the Sens 12-4. The Isles are 11-2-0 in the last 13 meetings with Ottawa, including 5-1-0 in the last six games in Kanata.

ISLANDERS NOTES:
  • Brock Nelson scored two goals in Saturday's win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. It was Nelson's second two goal game of the season, the other coming on Oct. 28 against the Carolina Hurricanes. Nelson is tied for the team lead in goals with eight, and leads the team with 17 points. Nelson also had a career-high - and tied the NHL's season-high - with 10 shots on goal in the game.
    - Scott Mayfield scored his fourth goal of the season on Saturday. Mayfield scored just three goals in 2021-22. This is the first time Mayfield's scored four or more goals in a season since 2019-20.
    - Mayfield's goal was the 13th goal scored by an Islander defenseman this year. That total leads the NHL. The Islanders defense has scored the most points in the Eastern Conference and sits in third in the NHL with 37 points (13G, 24A).

    - Matt Martin played his 700th game as a New York Islander on Saturday. Martin is just the ninth player in franchise history to play 700 games with the team.
    - The Islanders have won 10 of their first 16 games this season. They did not record their 10th win until Jan. 1, 2022 last season, their 28th game.
    - The Islanders penalty kill has allowed eight goals over the past eight games.
SENATORS NOTES:
  • Thomas Chabot left the Senators' game against the Flyers Saturday early with an injury after a hit by Travis Konecny. Head Coach DJ Smith said Chabot will miss at least a week with a concussion. Chabot has six points (3G, 3A) in 12 games this season and averages 25:45 TOI per game, the fifth highest in the NHL.
    - Brady Tkachuk leads the Senators in scoring with 19 points (6G, 13A). Tkachuk had a three-point game against the Flyers on Saturday, all assists.
    - The Senators traded for Alex DeBrincat from the Chicago Blackhawks in the offseason. So far, DeBrincat has 13 points (4G, 9A) in 14 games, including a two-goal outing against the Flyers in his last game. He is tied for third on the team in scoring.
    - Claude Giroux returned home to Ottawa as a free agent this offseason, signing a three-year contract. Giroux is second on the team in scoring with 15 points (7G, 8A) in 14 games. Giroux is currently on an eight-game point streak, with 11 points (5G, 6A) in that streak.
    - The Senators also acquired goalie Cam Talbot in the offseason. Talbot missed the start of the season with an upper-body injury, but debuted on Nov. 3 and is 1-2-0 to start the season with a 2.35 GAA and a .925 SV%.
    - Rookie Shane Pinto leads all NHL rookies in goals with eight in 14 games.
    - The Senators lost top center Josh Norris long-term to a shoulder injury on Oct. 26. Norris had two points (1G, 1A) in five games this year and 55 points (35G, 20A) in 65 games last year.
