With a goal of going .500, the New York Islanders wrap up a four-game road trip on Monday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs (7:30 p.m., MSGSN2).
The Islanders are 1-2-0 through the first three games of their road trip, beating the Ottawa Senators a week ago before dropping consecutive games to the Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars.

"We have an opportunity to go .500 on the trip and that's what we look forward to doing," Head Coach Lane Lambert said.
Most recently, the Isles fell 5-2 to the Stars, taking a 2-2 tie into the third period before allowing three goals in the final frame.
The Maple Leafs are coming off a 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday.
Toronto has won the last four games between the teams, outscoring the Isles 13-3, with a different Toronto goaltender earning all four wins. The last Islander win was at the Coliseum on November 13, 2019.

ISLANDERS NOTES:
  • Mathew Barzal scored his first two goals of the season on Saturday night, snapping an 18-game goalless drought to start the season. The two-goal game was Barzal's first since recording a hat trick on April 1, 2021 against the Washington Capitals. Barzal leads the Islanders in both assists (19) and points (21) and is currently on a four-game point streak (2G, 3A), which matches his season long.
Barzal's two points upped his career total to 332, which propelled him ahead of Ziggy Palffy for 22nd on the Islanders all-time points list. Barzal is one point shy of matching Tomas Jonsson (333 points) for 21st on the list.
    - The Islanders allowed three third period goals for the first time this season, which was uncharacteristic given the Isles strong third period play. The Islanders lead the NHL with 30 third period goals this season, while only allowing 19 goals against.

    - Cal Clutterbuck (3,626 hits) is six hits shy of tying Dustin Brown (3,632) for the NHL's all-time hits record. Clutterbuck has a team-leading 64 hits this season, which is eighth in the NHL. Clutterbuck will tie Frans Nielsen for 18th on the franchise's games played list (605).
MAPLE LEAFS NOTES:
  • Former Islander John Tavares had three points (1G, 2A) against the Sabres on Saturday, upping his point total to 21 (10G, 11A) on the year.
    - With two goals on Saturday, Mitch Marner upped his point streak to 12 games, with 17 points (5G, 12A) over that span. Marner's 12-game run marks the longest streak in the NHL this season.

    - Defensemen Jake Muzzin and TJ Brodie are currently on IR, as is goalie Ilya Samsonov. Muzzin has missed 15 games with a neck injury and is on LTIR, Brodie has missed four games with an oblique injury and Samsonov has missed seven games with knee injury.
    - The Maple Leafs are 6-1-3 in their last 10 games.
    - The Maple Leafs power play went 2-for-3 on Saturday and has five power-play goals in the team's last five games (5-for-14). The Leafs penalty kill went 4-for-6 on Saturday, but also scored a shorthanded goal.
    - Matt Murray, who the Leafs acquired from Ottawa in the offseason, returned from an adductor injury on Nov. 15 after missing 14 games. Since returning, Murray is 2-0-1 with a 2.34 GAA and a .934 SV% over that span.
