LAST TIME OUT
The Golden Knights exploded for four unanswered goals in the final 25 minutes on Thursday to complete a 6-3 comeback win over the Calgary Flames at T-Mobile Arena, behind a hat trick and five-point performance from Mitch Marner (3G, 2A). Morgan Frost gave Calgary a lead with the only goal of the opening period, but Marner knotted it up less than two minutes into the second. Blake Coleman found the net twice for the Flames in the middle stanza, but Marner added his second and Pavel Dorofeyev drew the Golden Knights even once again with a power-play goal in the final five minutes of the middle period. Brett Howden beat Dustin Wolf on a wrist shot just past the midway point of the final frame, and Vegas didn’t look back as Ivan Barbashev stretched the lead and Marner sealed the hat trick and 6-3 win with less than three minutes remaining. Carter Hart turned aside 19 shots, earning the win in his first game since returning to the lineup.
SEASON SERIES
Vegas carries a 0-2-1 record against Edmonton into Saturday’s game. The first meeting came on Dec. 21, 2025, when the Golden Knights nearly stormed back from a four-goal deficit. The Oilers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first 30 minutes of the contest, then Vegas potted three straight before the comeback fell just short. Tomas Hertl (1G, 2A) and Pavel Dorofeyev (1G) each found the net on the man advantage, followed by an even-strength goal from Marner before Edmonton held on for the final 14 minutes. Noah Hanifin added a helper on all three of Vegas’ tallies. The second matchup of the campaign was March 8, when a late empty netter lifted Edmonton to a 4-2 win at T-Mobile Arena. Jack Eichel and Noah Hanifin scored for the Golden Knights, and Marner added an assist on each goal in the loss. The most recent bout between the two teams was March 26, when a third-period goal from Ivan Barbashev forced overtime before Evan Bouchard gave the Oilers the win just over three minutes into the extra frame.
OPPOSITION UPDATE
The Oilers host Saturday’s game with a 39-28-9 record for 87 points and are tied for first place in the Pacific Division. The Oilers have won a season-high five straight, and seven of their last nine. Saturday’s contest marks the last of a four-game homestand for Edmonton, where they’ve gone 3-0-0 so far with a +7 goal differential. Connor McDavid leads the Oilers and the NHL with 126 points (43G, 83A) and is tied with Nikita Kucherov for the league lead in assists with 83. Edmonton will be without their second-leading scorer in Leon Draisaitl, who has 97 points (35G, 62A) and has missed the last eight games with a lower-body injury.

A VEGAS VICTORY WOULD…
- Mark the 397th win in franchise history
- Give the Golden Knights a 12-14-4 all-time record against the Oilers
- Three-straight wins and at least one point in each of their last five outings
- Improve John Tortorella's record to 3-0-0 behind the Vegas bench
KEYS TO THE GAME
Don’t Chase It: The Golden Knights have outscored opponents, 10-3, in the second and third periods through two games under Head Coach John Tortorella, a dominant stretch that speaks to the identity he is building in Vegas. The challenge Saturday is bringing that same energy from the opening faceoff. In a hostile road environment against a hot Edmonton team, Vegas cannot afford to spot the Oilers a first-period lead and spend the night digging out. They need to come out on the attack and set the tone early at Rogers Place.
Flip the Script: Edmonton owns the league's best power play, converting at a 30.1% clip, making discipline a priority for the Golden Knights on Saturday. Vegas must stay out of the penalty box and limit the Oilers' chances on the man advantage. On the flip side, the Oilers' penalty kill ranks 23rd in the NHL at 77.8%, a vulnerability the Golden Knights' potent power play must exploit when given the chance. Winning the special teams battle could be the difference in what figures to be a tight game against a division rival.
