The Vegas Golden Knights posted a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks in their first road game of the season on Sunday night at Rogers Arena.

HOW IT WENT DOWN

Former Golden Knight Paul Cotter started the scoring with a tip-in for Vancouver near the end of the first frame, but Mitch Marner evened the score nine minutes into the second period with patient play in the slot off an assist from Brayden McNabb.

With help from Jack Eichel, Victor Olofsson kept the momentum going for the Golden Knights on the power play, giving the visitors a 2-1 lead. Jonathan Lekkerimaki tied it up for Vancouver briefly, but Marc Gatcomb responded soon after with his first goal of the season and first as a Golden Knight, which held up as the game-winner. Gatcomb's goal gave Vegas a 3-2 lead through 40 minutes and the final frame was scoreless. Adin Hill made 18 saves between the pipes for his first win of the season.
