Johnny Gaudreau and Mikael Backlund were in action and Bill Peters was behind the bench for Canada on the final day of the preliminary round of the IIHF World Championship:

FINLAND 6, USA 2

Finland handed Gaudreau and the USA their first loss of the tournament with a 6-2 decision on Tuesday. Gaudreau was held pointless in the setback. He had two shots in 17:35 of ice time.
The USA wraps up the preliminary round with 16 points: four regulation wins, two overtime wins and one regulation loss. That places them second in Group B, trailing Finland.
