Libin Gala 2016

The Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta is hosting its fourth annual The Beat Goes On Gala on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 in the Palomino Room at the BMO Centre in Stampede Park.
As an entity of the University of Calgary and Alberta Health Services (Calgary), the Libin Institute is responsible for all cardiovascular science research, education and care delivery in Calgary.

One of Calgary's most prestigious fundraising events, this year's The Beat Goes On Gala will kick off with a cocktail reception with entertainment from Johnny Summers. Attendees will be treated to a four-course meal created by the Calgary Stampede's Executive Chef Richard Vitug along with a performance by 11-year-old violinist Anna Stube. The event's main musical act is Randy Bachman, a multiple Juno Award winning Canadian artist.
Proceeds from this year's Gala will support the vital work of the Libin Cardiovascular Institute's clinical researchers as they continue to develop novel treatments for individual patients and to purchase cutting-edge imaging equipment to help discovery scientists understand what is happening at the molecular level of the heart.
"Proceeds from previous galas have supported our researchers and clinicians, allowing them to make innovative discoveries and deliver superior care," said Libin Cardiovascular Institute Director Dr. Todd Anderson. "Don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful evening out while helping the Libin Cardiovascular Institute's researchers and caregivers meet their goal of reducing the burden of heart disease."
The Institute is honoured to once again have Tony Dilawri of the Dilawri Auto Group and Ken King of the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation as co-chairs for 2017. The Gala is organized in conjunction with the Libin Cardiovascular Institute's implementation partners the Calgary Health Trust and the University of Calgary.
Previous Gala events have raised a net of almost $2 million to support cardiovascular care and research in Southern Alberta.
