Welcome back, captain.
Mark Giordano will be back in the lineup tomorrow when the first-place Flames host the Philadelphia Flyers after serving a two-game suspension over the weekend.
Head coach Bill Peters, who just a few weeks ago hid the captain's skates in a comical effort to keep him off the ice on a non-game day, thinks the rest will have done their workhorse of a blueliner some good.
"I think he's going to be refreshed and excited about getting back out there and playing again," he said. "We're excited to have him back.
"It slots everybody in the right spots. Our play looked a little out of sync without him, and now we'll get him back on that first unit and move (Hanifin) to the second unit. I think everything will be a bit more familiar for those guys."

No decision has been made a starting goaltender just yet.
Here are the forward lines and D pairs the Flames ran during Tuesday's practice:

DEFENCE

Mark Giordano - TJ Brodie
Noah Hanifin - Travis Hamonic
Oliver Kylington - Rasmus Andersson
Following practice, Peters also had an update on the status of injured players Michael Stone (blood clot), Juuso Valimaki (lower body), Michael Frolik (lower body) and, of course, Mikael Backlund (upper body), who went down late in a 2-0 win over the Minnesota Wild.
"Not close," he said regarding all four.
He singled out Frolik, in particular, and said it's still "going to be a while."
"I think it's week-to-week for him."
The update on Backlund, though, was much more positive.
"I haven't seen him since he got hit, to be honest," Peters said. "I know he was coming in, spending some time with (Athletic Therapist) Kent (Kobelka) and getting on the bike, so... I don't think it's close, but he's feeling better."
