Flames prospects Dillon Dube and Matthew Phillips have been named to Team WHL for the 2017 Canada Russia Series.
The annual event features Canadian Hockey League players eligible for the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship facing off against Russia's top prospects. Team WHL will take on the Russians twice, playing Game 1 in Moose Jaw, Sask. on Nov. 6 and Game 2 in Swift Current on Nov. 7.
Team OHL will host Russia in Games 3 and 4 on Nov. 9 and 13 and Team QMJHL will host Games 5 and 6 on Nov. 14 and Nov. 16.
Dube, who represented Canada at last year's World Junior tournament, has three goals and 11 points in seven games with the Kelowna Rockets this year. The centre was selected in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft.
Phillips is currently third in WHL scoring with nine goals and 24 points in 10 games. The Victoria Royals' winger was the Flames' sixth round selection in last year's draft.
