US

The Flames won their second straight tilt - and third in their last four games - thanks to a 44-save performance by David Rittich and a pair of goals from both Gaudreau and Garnet Hathaway in a 4-1 decision over the Rangers as MSG Sunday night. So how impressive was Rittich's save percentage? Glad you asked. We're not math wizards, but we know .978 is pretty incredible. Gaudreau scored the lone marker in the first period and added another in the second, along with Hathaway who tallied his first since April 7 last season against the Golden Knights. The Flames were outshot 45-26 in the game and the Rangers pressed hard late in the contest but Hathaway iced it with 1:53 left to play … The visitors were exceptional at the faceoff dot in New York, winning 61% of their draws … Following the tilt in La Belle Province, the Flames head home from their short two-game Eastern swing to host two of the game's biggest stars in Sidney Crosby and the Pens on Thursday and Alexander Ovechkin and the defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals on Saturday.

PLAYER TO WATCH

Flames: LW Johnny Gaudreau
There's a reason they call him Johnny Hockey. One of the slickest playmakers in the league with eyes in the back of his head, No. 13 has been racking up the goals along with the apples this season. He scored twice against the Rangers and is now tied with linemate Elias Lindholm for the team lead.
Canadiens: LW Max Domi
Domi has opened the scoring in Montreal's last two games, recording his first two tallies of the new season. He has six points in seven games this campaign after the off-season trade that sent Alex Galchenyuk to the Coyotes in exchange for the 23-year-old.
