Postgame Quotes
Anaheim Ducks
Ryan Getzlaf
On the game
That was definitely a better effort throughout the whole game. We made a couple mistakes, but overall we played pretty solid throughout the whole game and didn't allow them a whole lot.
On the complete performance
Any time you can play that complete game, it allows you to look back on different times and understand what it takes to play in the moment and do those sort of things.
Hampus Lindholm
On the physicality
These types of games you're fighting hard for those two points. Especially against a speedy team like this, you have to try to slow them down. That's our kind of hockey. We did a good job of that.
On limiting the Devils to 17 shots on goal
They're a fast team. Even though they only had 17 shots, they still had good scoring chances and scored two goals on us. They're a dangerous team, but we did a good job on them tonight.
Rickard Rakell
On the game
We felt like we had control of the game. We had some good chances throughout the game and we didn't get negative after they scored. We kept coming after them.
Head Coach Randy Carlyle
On the strong start to the game
We had a great start. We had to have a good start. That's paramount to getting things going for us in our building. They played yesterday afternoon, so you try to take advantage of that as much as possible. We had a pretty complete game in a lot of ways. Solid first period and found ways to keep them to the outside.
On the team's defense
It's all about defense and being on the right side of the puck and being inside. With the loss of Manson, it gave an opportunity for some other people to pick up those minutes. It was good to see Beauchemin and Pettersson - they responded. They were called upon. That's a bright spot for us when you can lean on those guys. We had five guys that gave us everything they got. It's great to see.

On tonight's game
I think they were just all over us. We didn't push back. I thought they had the physical game going. I thought we kind of shied away from it a little bit, but I thought we had some good chances in the game where I thought we were really good. We had a little push back there at the end. All in all, I thought we just needed to be a little bit better.
On if fatigue played a factor
I'm not going to use an excuse for back-to-back. I think this is the time of year where it is the best time to play. You should be ready every night. No excuses. I think we tried. I thought we tried, the effort was there. Just a couple mental breakdowns that cost us the game tonight.
Keith Kinkaid
On the team not blocking shots like they have in the past
That's my job to spot the shots though. I thought we did a good job blocking shots. There was one I think late in the third or something. I thought we were doing our job, just maybe we didn't get enough pucks to their guy and challenge him enough.
On moving on from the loss
We just have to stick to our game plan. I thought we played a pretty hard game. We didn't get the bounces. We just have to learn from it and regroup for Tuesday.
Head Coach John Hynes
On tonight's game
I thought Anaheim played a heck of a game. Coming in I thought they were very thorough and certainly deserved to win the game. You have to give credit to the opponent too for how well they play. I thought we weren't as sharp as we needed to be and our puck movement did not allow us to access our speed.
On the team's offensive pressure
We did not because we didn't spend a lot of time in the offensive zone. In the earlier games, we moved the puck out of our own zone very well, and we are able to get to our speed and get in the offensive zone. If you take this game in general, we were not sharp enough and competitive enough to give ourselves a chance to win the game. We had pockets, but it wasn't good enough.
