The Ducks will unveil a large-scale elementary school "makeover" project on Monday, Sept. 16 at 8:30 a.m., entitled the Anaheim Ducks "Power PLAY!" On Thursday, Sept. 12, team staff, Ducks fans and partners will assemble at Raymond Temple Elementary School in Buena Park to rejuvenate the school, including the installation of a permanent street hockey rink on the school playground. Ducks players, Ducks and Honda Center executives, Power Players and Wild Wing will also roll up their sleeves for this day-long beautification project. In addition, the NHL club has invited Ducks fans, Orange Alliance Members and premium seat holders to lend a hand throughout the day.

"The Anaheim Ducks are committed to supporting the Orange County community and inspiring children to reach their full potential," said Ducks Executive Vice President/COO Tim Ryan. "We look forward to seeing the students at Raymond Temple Elementary School enjoying the new and enhanced features at the school and hope that these upgrades will help them in their educational endeavors."
In addition to the permanent street hockey rink that will reside on Raymond Temple's playground, the school will also be upgraded with new campus murals as well as expanding the school's current garden and trees to provide shade around the playground. Operation Clean Slate will create murals which feature the school's colors with a focus on the school's mascot while also incorporating Ducks colors and logos. Enrich L.A. will plant herbs, a butterfly garden with California Natives and flowers and an outdoor teaching station with picnic tables.
On Monday, Sept. 16, the Ducks will host a special assembly, where the brand new street hockey rink will be unveiled along with other elements of the campus makeover. Several corporate partners and local nonprofit organizations that have given their support to the Ducks "Power PLAY!" and made the school makeover project possible will be on hand on Thursday as well as on Monday (Sept. 16) for the unveil (a complete list of partners is included below).
Raymond Temple Elementary School is an invested participant in the Anaheim Ducks S.C.O.R.E. (Scholastic Curriculum of Recreation & Education) Program. The school has been a part of the street hockey program and reading is the Goal for more than 10 years. Ducks S.C.O.R.E. offers a three-pronged approach to enrich the education of students: an in-class education program that donates school supplies and includes an incentive-based reading program (Reading is the GOAL), a science & math program (First Flight Field Trip) as well as a street hockey physical education program. S.C.O.R.E. is the one of the flagship programs of the Anaheim Ducks Foundation. The mission of the Anaheim Ducks Foundation is to facilitate and support programs that produce positive change for children and families throughout Southern California by providing educational opportunities, broadening access to the sport of hockey and addressing the health and wellness needs of our community.
