CHICAGO -- With the 122nd overall selection in the 2017 NHL Draft, the Ducks have selected right wing Kyle Olson from the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League (WHL).

Olson, 18, posted 57 points (20g/37a), including three game-winning goals, in 72 games with the Americans during the 2016-17 season. The 5-foot-10, 161-pound forward ranked seventh on the club in goals and sixth in assists and points in his second season in the WHL.
In his WHL rookie season (2015-16), the Calgary, Alberta native recorded 10 points (3g/7a) in 19 games. Olson played Midget AAA with his hometown Calgary Buffaloes in 2014-15, recording 36 points (16g/20a) in 32 games, and was named MVP of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League while skating with the Calgary Bison in 2013-14 when he posted 80 points (39g/41a) in 33 games.
Internationally, Olson represented Canada at the 2017 Under 18-World Championship and earned a silver medal with Team Alberta at the 2015 Canada Winter Games.
