The Ducks had to part ways with defenseman Haydn Fleury, who was chosen by the Seattle Kraken today in the NHL Expansion Draft.

Fleury was traded to the Ducks by the Carolina Hurricanes on April 12 for defenseman Jani Hakanpaa and a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. The 25-year-old blueliner had two goals and an assist in just 12 games with Anaheim.
The Kraken's selection of 30 players, one from each NHL Club with the exception of the Vegas Golden Knights, was revealed live from Seattle in a special 90-minute broadcast on Wednesday, July 21 on ESPN2 in the U.S. and Sportsnet, SN NOW and TVA Sports in Canada.
The 2021 NHL Expansion Draft was conducted under the same rules for the Kraken as the Golden Knights in 2017. Current NHL teams were able to protect seven forwards, three defensemen and one goaltender, or eight skaters (forwards/defensemen) and one goaltender.
