The Ducks have acquired centers Adam Henrique and Joseph Blandisi, and a 2018 third-round draft pick from New Jersey in exchange for defenseman Sami Vatanen and a conditional draft pick.

Henrique, 27 (2/6/90), has played in 455 career NHL games with New Jersey, earning 122-135=257 points with 144 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-0, 195-pound center has notched three 20-plus goal seasons, including a career-best 30 in 2015-16. Henrique has earned 4-10=14 points with six PIM in 24 games with New Jersey this season.
Henrique was a finalist for the 2011-12 Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie. In the playoffs that season, he scored 5-8=13 points with a +12 rating (24 games) and helped lead the Devils to the Stanley Cup Final. Henrique tallied two goals in Game 7 of the Conference Quarterfinals vs. Florida, including the game-winner in double overtime. That made him the second rookie in NHL history to score an overtime-winning goal in a Game 7. Later in the playoffs, he scored again in overtime in the Conference Finals in Game Six vs. the New York Rangers, sending the Devils to the Stanley Cup Final. He is the only rookie in NHL history to score two series-clinching overtime goals in the same playoffs.
Henrique was selected by New Jersey in the third round (82nd overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft. He won the 2009 and 2010 Memorial Cup with the Windsor Spitfires and a silver medal for Team Canada at the 2010 World Junior Championship.
Blandisi, 23 (7/18/94), has collected 8-18=26 points with 60 PIM in 68 career NHL games with New Jersey. Blandisi made his NHL debut in 2015-16, recording 5-12=17 points in 41 games. He split last season with New Jersey and Albany of the American Hockey League (AHL), posting 3-6=9 points with 26 PIM in 27 NHL contests. Signed as a free agent by New Jersey on Jan. 14, 2015, the 6-0, 182-pound center has earned 3-11=14 points with 24 PIM in 19 AHL games with Binghamton (AHL) this season. In his final season in the Ontario Hockey League in 2014-15, Blandisi led the league with 52 goals and finished fourth with 122 points in 68 games with the Barrie Colts.
Vatanen has played in 280 NHL games, scoring 33-93=126 points. He was drafted by Anaheim in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft. He has played in 15 NHL games this season, scoring 1-3=4 points.
