Canadiens draft table rep??chage

MONTREAL - As the 2018 Playoffs picture continues to settle, the Canadiens' Draft picture is also starting to solidify, and the team now holds three picks in the fourth round of the 2018 affair which will take place in Dallas on June 22 and 23.

As part of the deal that sent Torrey Mitchell to Los Angeles in November, the fourth-round pick the Canadiens had previously sent to the Kings in the Dwight King trade in March 2017 was promised to Montreal on the condition that the Kings earned a spot in the 2018 NHL Playoffs.
On Wednesday, LA clinched their berth in the postseason with a St. Louis loss to Chicago.
The Kings gain back their fifth-round pick, which had conditionally been sent to Montreal in the Mitchell trade.
The Canadiens now have 10 picks heading into the 2018 NHL Draft, including one in the first round, four in the second, one in the third, three in the fourth, and one in the fifth. With Marc Bergevin's stated goal at the trade deadline of getting "younger and faster, with character", the Canadiens enter the offseason with five picks in the Top 62. Where the Habs will pick in each of those rounds will be determined by the annual NHL Draft Lottery, which is slated to take place on Saturday, April 28.
