Numbers-FLA

MONTREAL - Here's a numerical look at Monday night's game between the Panthers and Canadiens at the Bell Centre.

5 - Nicolas Deslauriers dropped the gloves for a fifth time this season, this time against the Panthers' Aaron Ekblad. The homegrown forward instigated the fight in response to Ekblad's elbow on teammate Charles Hudon.
17 - Deslauriers' duel with Ekblad was a costly affair for the burly forward, as he was handed 17 penalty minutes as a result. In addition to getting five minutes for fighting and two minutes for instigating, Deslauriers was given a 10-minute misconduct.
2 - Seventeen seconds after the Panthers opened the scoring, Jacob de la Rose finished a sweet wraparound feed from Artturi Lehkonen in the first period to tie the game at 1-1, but the goal was disallowed after a coach's challenge determined the Canadiens were offside on the play. It was the second straight Habs game in which a goal was challenged, but the last time - on Saturday in Toronto - the call went in Montreal's favor, as it was the Maple Leafs who saw their goal reversed upon review.
2:03 - Deslauriers and Ekblad weren't the only players to duke it out on Monday. Just 2:03 after their tilt, Michael McCarron - playing in his second game since being called up from Laval - duelled with Alexander Petrovic in his first NHL fight of the season.
19 - Antti Niemi continued his stellar run of late and sparkled in goal for the Canadiens on Monday. After stopping eight of nine in the opening frame, he turned aside 19 shots in the second period to hold the Panthers to a 1-0 lead, weathering several flurries of shots as the period went on.

34 - The local boys led the way in the physical department on Monday, taking credit for more than a third of all hits dished out by the Canadiens - 11 of 32 (34%). Deslauriers led the way with five, followed by four for Hudon and two for Jonathan Drouin.
5 - Daniel Carr put Roberto Luongo to the test five times, tops on the Habs against Florida.
3 - The shutout loss was the third such outcome for the Canadiens against the Panthers this season. They have not scored against Florida since their 5-1 win back on October 24.
