EDMONTON - The Canadiens assigned defenseman Brett Lernout the AHL's Laval Rocket on Saturday.

Called up on Wednesday, Lernout played one game with the Canadiens this week, registering 14:43 of ice time in Edmonton on Saturday.
The 22-year-old finished his night at Rogers Place with a minus-1 differential opposite the Oilers.
