NIKITA JEVPALOVS

MONTREAL - Laval Rocket forward Nikita Jevpalovs added his name to the list of nominees for AHL goal of the year on Wednesday.

Jevpalovs took some inspiration from former Canadiens player Denis Savard when he scored the first goal of the game against the Belleville Senators at Place Bell.

The tally will surely be a candidate for AHL goal of the year.
It was Jevpalovs' fifth goal of the season.
The Latvian is currently in his first season with the Canadiens' farm club.
Jevpalovs agreed to a one-year contract with the Rocket on July 1.
The forward was reunited with his former head coach, Joel Bouchard.
In 64 games in his final season in Junior with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, Jevpalovs collected 49 goals for 100 points.
