When the canadiens.com crew asked alternate captain Brendan Gallagher for help on finding the author of their next playlist, he mentioned that Nick Suzuki listens to a lot of rap.

Even though Zukes is known as a country fan, as seen at last summer's LASSO festival and behind the scenes at Luke Combs' concert this past fall, it turns out the Habs captain has an ear for hip hop and all of its subgenres too.
Case in point, 21 Savage and Drake appear many times on Suzuki's latest playlist. While only one tune from their collab album Her Loss makes the cut, both artists have a solid presence on the list.
All that remains to be seen is whether the Canadiens captain will be in attendance when Drake borrows the Canadiens' home on back-to-back nights on July 14 and 15.
The fandom might even go both ways considering the Toronto rapper has repped the Habs on several occasions despite his hometown, the legendary Leafs-Canadiens rivalry, and his allegiance to the Raptors. Spotted in a retro team jacket during Super Bowl weekend in February, he likewise dropped the team name in his bar "Skatin' through this album like a Montreal Canadien" on the 2022 track More M's.
Drake also raps "We might pop up on 'em at will like Suzuki," which the canadiens.com crew chooses to believe is a deliberate reference to his fellow Ontarian.
In any case, the artist who popularized "The 6" can also feel at home in the 514.
Note that some tracks may contain explicit lyrics. Listener discretion is advised.
While the majority of the tracks on Suzuki's playlist have been released since 2017, Run This Town (2009) by JAY-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West and Numb/Encore (2004) by JAY-Z and Linkin Park bring us back to the aughts, when Nick was just Atom age.
