MONTREAL - The Laval Rocket are one step closer to kicking off their inaugural season with the release of their 2017-18 schedule.

The Canadiens' AHL affiliate will be playing out of Place Bell in Laval as of October after making the move from St. John's, NL.
The Rocket will make history by opening their first season with a pair of weekend games against another recently-relocated franchise, the Belleville Senators, on October 6 and 7. Their next two games are also at home the following weekend, this time against the Binghamton Devils. The Devils, AHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, moved from Albany in place of the Senators' farm team.
Laval's first road trip quickly follows, with stops in Wilkes-Barre, Bridgeport, and Providence on the docket on October 20, 21, and 22, respectively.
The Habs' minor-league squad will play one game in an NHL arena, facing the Toronto Marlies at the Air Canada Centre on March 12. The Rocket will also close out their inaugural season with a home-and-home series against the Marlies on April 13 and 14.
Laval's home games feature a variety of start times; the puck drop for all Friday night games at Place Bell is 7:30 p.m., while Saturday starts are either at 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. Except for two 7:00 p.m. starts, the Rocket's Wednesday night games all begin at 7:30 p.m.
