Kayla flew in from Nashville, TN to partake in the festivities marking Carey's latest accomplishment. Their parents, Jerry and Linda, made the trip from British Columbia, too.
Carey's wife, Angela, and daughters Liv and Millie, will also be front and center for the celebration at the Bell Centre as well, of course.
"It's going to be super emotional. I can tell already. I got an e-mail with the schedule of what's happening and I was already tearing up," said Kayla. "I can almost guarantee that my dad is going to cry. And once you see Jerry cry, if the whole place isn't crying…"
Kayla expects her father to be particularly emotional given his connection to the man his son surpassed earlier in the week with his 315th career victory in a Canadiens uniform.
Hall of Famer Jacques Plante was the goalie coach for Philadelphia when Mr. Price was plying his trade in the Flyers organization four decades ago.
"It's so surreal that this is happening, and just having that angle where my dad was coached by him. That's why I think it's going to be so emotional for my dad as well, because he does realize the significance of this," said Kayla. "He has more ways to relate to this than just the one. It's going to be very special."
It certainly will be, and the significance of the achievement isn't lost on Kayla, either.
She couldn't be happier to be in the building with the rest of her family, and the pride level she's feeling right now is off the charts.
"It's such an accomplishment. There's no one that deserves it more. It feels like just yesterday Carey was getting drafted, so it's crazy to think that it's been 315 wins and that many years," mentioned Kayla. "I'm excited to see how my nieces react, especially Liv since she's getting a little bit older. It's just such a special thing with such short notice having everyone come together to celebrate this. But, we wouldn't have it any other way."
