MONTREAL -- Hundreds of lucky eight-year-olds from across Quebec had a chance to skate like the pros during the Canadiens U9 Festival powered by Under Armour.

In total, 40 teams took part in the two-day intra-provincial tournament from April 16 to 17 at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard, where they not only had a chance to take on fellow U9-level hockey players at the Canadiens' official practice rink and tour the Habs' dressing room, but also rub elbows with a few celebs.
Habs alums Gaston Gingras and Eric Houde as well as Canadiens mascot, Youppi!, were on-site throughout the weekend, but the most coveted photo op was Lord Stanley himself, as the Stanley Cup made an appearance in Brossard, along with the Hart, Vezina, and Maurice Richard Trophies.

Between games - each team played two games on Saturday and two on Sunday - participants were able to hone their skills off the ice in the Under Armour Zone, where they tested their shooting accuracy, passing, and shot speed - no word if any of the youngsters were able to best Shea Weber's blistering 106.5 mph slapper…
The festival is one of many minor hockey programs offered by the Montreal Canadiens throughout the year. For more information on the U9 Under Armour Festival or to learn more about upcoming clinics and events,
