Canadiens assign Ryan Poehling to Laval

Poehling led the Rocket in scoring last season with 25 points

TORONTO -- The Canadiens assigned forward Ryan Poehling to the Laval Rocket (AHL) on Wednesday.

Poehling led the Rocket in scoring last season with 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) in 28 games.
The 22-year-old Lakeville, MN native has registered 38 points (16 goals, 22 assists) in 64 career AHL games over the last two seasons, all with Laval.
He also has five points (4 goals, 1 assist) in 28 career NHL games with Montreal.
Poehling was selected 25th overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.
The Rocket open the season on Friday night against the Belleville Senators at Place Bell.
