MONTREAL – Cole Caufield scored his 40th goal of the season at 4:38 of overtime to push the Canadiens past the Boston Bruins, 3-2, at the Bell Centre on Tuesday.

Caufield became the first Hab to net 40 goals in a season since Vincent Damphousse in 1993-94.

Brendan Gallagher celebrated his 900th NHL game with an assist on Josh Anderson’s game-tying goal.

Nick Suzuki had the other Montreal marker, while Lane Hutson added a pair of helpers to his season total.

Jakub Dobes was stellar in the Canadiens’ net, stopping 26 shots against the Bruins.
