MONTREAL - The Canadiens have agreed to terms with defenseman Victor Mete on a one-year contract extension on Friday. Here's a look at his career by the numbers.

171 - The Woodbridge, ON native now has 171 games of NHL experience under his belt in three seasons with the big club. Mete has four goals and 27 assists for 31 career points to go along with a plus-27 differential. That cumulative differential is tops among Montreal defensemen the past three seasons. He has also appeared in 10 playoff games with the Habs - all of them in 2019-20 - picking up a pair of assists and a plus-1 differential.
11 - Despite missing 20 games due to injury this past season, Mete still managed four goals - the first four of his NHL career - for 11 points. He averaged an even 16:00 of ice time per game in 2019-20.
17 - Mete set a finished in a three-way tie for third on the Canadiens in differential in 2018-19 with a plus-17 in 71 games. He also set a career high for points that season with 13, all of them assists.
3 - Mete has won three championships throughout his career. In 2015-16, he helped the London Knights to the J. Ross Robertson Cup, the OHL title. That helped book Mete and the Knights a ticket to the Memorial Cup, a tournament London also won that same year. On the international scene, Mete was part of Team Canada's gold medal-winning contingent at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship.
