BostonBruins.com - The six Bruins prospects participating in the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship are set for the event's quarterfinals, which kick off on Tuesday afternoon.
Ryan Lindgren, Trent Frederic, Jeremy Swayman and the United States (2-1-0-1) have a showdown with Russia; Urho Vaakanainen, Joona Koppanen, and Finland (2-0-0-2) will face off against the Czech Republic; and Oskar Steen and Sweden (3-1-0-0), which finished first in Group B, will take on Slovakia.
Here's a look at how each player has performed so far:

FINLAND
Koppanen, a 2016 fifth-round pick, is having a strong tournament with a team-leading three goals in four games. His four points are tied for second on Finland as is his plus-3 rating. The 19-year-old was also Finland's player of the game (goal, assist) in the team's 5-2 win over Slovakia on Saturday.

Vaakanainen, last June's first-round pick, has one assist and a plus-2 rating in four games.
TEAM USA
Frederic notched the game's first goal in Team USA's 5-4 win over Finland on Sunday. The University of Wisconsin sophomore is also a plus-2 for the tournament.
Lindgren has not yet recorded a point during the tournament, but is fourth on the U.S. in time on ice with an average of 18 minutes, 4 seconds per game. The 19-year-old has been playing the left side on Team USA's second defense pairing.
Swayman has not played in the tournament, but was the backup in the team's outdoor shootout victory over Canada at New Era Field.

SWEDEN
Steen has a goal and an assist, with a plus-2 rating, in four games. His goal was the shootout winner in a 4-3 triumph over Russia on New Year's Eve.

  • Providence head coach Jay Leach was named the head coach of the Atlantic Division for the upcoming 2018 AHL All-Star Classic.
  • It was quite the weekend for the B's pair of Oshawa Generals prospects. Jack Studnicka, last June's second-round pick, had a goal and six assists in three games, while goalie Kyle Keyser stopped 104 of the 109 shots he faced, including a 5-0 shutout win over North Bay on Monday. Keyser is fifth in the OHL with a 2.83 goals against average. Studnicka leads Oshawa with 40 points (11 goals, 29 assists) in 37 games.
  • Jack Becker, a seventh-round pick in 2015, picked up his first goal of the year in Michigan's 6-4 loss to Bowling Green on Monday.
  • Cedric Pare notched a goal and an assist in three games over the weekend for Saint John. The 2017 sixth-round pick is third on the team with 22 points and 9 goals this season.
  • Anton Blidh had two goals over Providence's three games last week as the P-Bruins went 2-0-1. Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson picked up his 10th goal of the year on Wednesday against Utica, while Kenny Agostino notched the winner in the shootout.
