Heart Health will be incorporated throughout the night in various ways, including the display of heart health tips from Tufts Children's Hospital and a healthy cooking segment with Nick and Janelle Foligno. 'I Heart' cards will be on display throughout the locker room hallway to honor Heart Health patients, and fans can get their blood pressure checked by professionals at Loge 15/16 in-game.
Tuesday's anthem will be sung by Valerie Giglio, a Stoneham, Massachusetts native. A professional jazz singer, Giglio lost the ability to use her voice in 2014 after suffering from a stroke. Through intensive rehab, Giglio regained the ability to sing and recently sang the national anthem at the Boston Heart Walk in front of nearly 10,000 people.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., a limited supply of Janelle Foligno's children's book, 'The Heart's Playbook,' will be available for purchase for $25 at the ProShop, powered by '47. The first 25 customers to purchase a book will receive a signed copy from Foligno, and all proceeds will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and The Heart's Playbook Foundation.
The Boston Bruins Foundation will host a 50/50 raffle, presented by DraftKings Daily Fantasy Sports, that will support the American Heart Association and their efforts to support heart health awareness and research throughout the country. Fans can purchase tickets online at BostonBruins.com/5050.
