The St. Louis Blues got off to a great start in the regular season, rolling to an impressive 4-0 win against the Dallas Stars on Friday night.

Another tough challenge awaits on Saturday as the club tries for another victory, this time in the second night of a back-to-back set — at altitude — against the Colorado Avalanche (8 p.m. CT, Blue Note+, 101 ESPN).

Zach Dean and Dillon Dube are expected to make their season debuts on Saturday.

Dean, who was acquired in a trade that sent Ivan Barbashev to the Vegas Golden Knights, will be playing for the first time since making nine appearances in the 2023-24 season. Dube will be playing in his first NHL game since 2024.

The Blues will be without Alexey Toropchenko, who sustained an upper-body injury in the second period on Friday in Dallas. Blues Head Coach Jim Montgomery said Toropchenko’s status was “more than day-to-day” but additional information would come after he gets an MRI.

Ross Johnston is expected to sit out.

In addition, Montgomery is changing up all the defense pairings for Saturday’s matchup with Colorado.

Jordan Binnington is expected to start in goal.
