ST. LOUIS - Blues captain Alex Pietrangelo got medical clearance from doctors on Friday night and will be in the lineup when the Blues host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Enterprise Center (FSMW, KMOX).

"It's relieving," Pietrangelo said after Saturday's morning skate. "It's not fun to watch, especially as long as I was out. The boys are playing well. It's fun to get back in when we're playing the way we are."
Pietrangelo has been out of the lineup since sustaining a hand injury in the Nov. 30 game against Colorado - a 3-2 overtime win for the Blues. Not long after the injury, Pietrangelo underwent surgery and has missed 11 games - the most he's missed in any stretch of his NHL career.
"He's the captain of our team and he's a great player," Blues Head Coach Craig Berube said of Pietrangelo. "It will be nice to have him back. He was missed when he was out of the lineup and he's one of the guys that it's hard to replace him. The guys did a good job while he was out."
Pietrangelo has played in 24 games this season, posting four goals and seven assists (11 points), which ranks second on the club among defensemen.
