"Just keep shooting, and the goals will come," Zachary Bolduc said with a chuckle on the first day at St. Louis Blues Prospect Camp.
One year ago, Bolduc had just been drafted No. 17 overall in the 2021 NHL Draft. Unfortunately, an injury kept him from participating in the on-ice activities at Prospect Camp last season.
After getting healthy and lighting it up in juniors, Bolduc is excited to build off his strong season and continue his development this summer.

He finished the QMJHL regular season with 55 goals - second most in the League - and 44 assists (99 points). He also led his Quebec Remparts to a strong playoff run, reaching the league semifinals and increasing his goal count to 63 over 77 total games.
In his opinion, Bolduc started off the season too passive with his shot - looking to make the pass before taking his own shot. It was a positive mindset to have, but learning to be an aggressive scorer is foundational in growing his skill set.
"In the second half (of the season), I played the way I should - I'm shooting and skating in the tough area, and that's the way I want to build my game," Bolduc said. "It really changed my production after Christmas when I focused on those things."
Bolduc has had a fitting mentor in his early time with the Blues - fellow Quebec native David Perron. The two have gone to dinner, and Perron has given him valuable advice as his NHL career begins.
"(Perron told me) to be the player that I am," Bolduc said. "Just work hard and good things will happen - don't think too much. The way the game is going, you can't think - you have to play with your feeling."
At Prospect Camp this year, Bolduc is keeping his goals simple.
"(I want to) just enjoy it, be who I am, get comfortable with everyone here and try to know as much as I can about the other guys here," he said.
He doesn't feel too much pressure after his stellar season, only focused on being himself and working hard.
Bolduc said, "For me, I try to keep it simple - I'm playing hockey, I'm happy. Scoring some goals and having fun, that's the key."
Growing his confidence and refining his game, Bolduc has his eyes set on the NHL.
The only question is how soon he will get there.
