ST. LOUIS - Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington has been named the NHL's First Star of the Week.

Binnington started three games last week, recording a perfect 3-0-0 record to go along 1.31 goals-against average, a League-leading .954 save-percentage and one shutout. He stopped 22 of 24 shots in a 3-2 comeback victory against the Florida Panthers on Feb. 5, then followed up that performance with a 32-save shutout effort against the League-leading Tampa Bay Lightning on Feb. 7. It was the first time all season the Lightning, the League's highest-scoring team, had been shutout.
After that, Binnington turned in a 29-save performance in a 3-2 win against the Nashville Predators on Feb. 9 at Enterprise Center.

Binnington goes 3-0, named NHL First Star of the Week

Overall, Binnington is 9-1-1 with a 1.72 goals-against average and a .931 save-percentage this season. He is just the 31st goalie in NHL history to record at least eight wins in his first 10 career starts and the third in franchise history to do so (Jake Allen and Brent Johnson).
Binnington joins Boston's Patrice Bergeron and Chicago's Dylan Strome in receiving Star of the Week honors. Binnington was previously named the NHL's Second Star for the week ending Jan. 13.
