A native of Salem, N.J., Gaudreau grew up only about 30 minutes away from Lincoln Financial Field, which played a part in why the Eagles have been Gaudreau's NFL team.
"I've always been a fan," Gaudreau said. "I used to watch their games with both my family and my buddies growing up, and now I have my wife and her entire family. We both have big families from Philly, so everyone is just big Eagles fans."
Robinson grew up not far from the city as well, as his hometown of Bellmawr is just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, and his parents helped shape his love for Philadelphia sports since the beginning.
"My family would try to go to Eagles games as often as we could," he said. "We actually tried to go to as many Philadelphia sporting events as we could. So, we have always been a Phillys sports fan and still cheer for the Eagles."
The guys plan to cheer on their favorite NFL team together as they watch Super Bowl LVII tonight with their fellow Blue Jackets teammates.
When asked how they feel about the Eagles going into Sunday, both had similar answers -- expect the Eagles to win it all for the second time in six seasons.
Gaudreau said that he is "super excited for the game. The last time (the Eagles) were there was in 2018 when we beat the Patriots and Tom Brady, so you know, it's going to be a fun one to watch for sure."
Robinson left it short and sweet, saying, "I'm very excited. It should be a repeat of what happened in 2018."
