Frontline Hero salute: Stephanie Reinhart

In games throughout the rest of the 2021 season, the Blue Jackets and OhioHealth will be honoring Frontline Heroes for the work they've done during these most challenging of times.
Bascom, Ohio, native Stepahnie Reinhart has spent the last nine years working for Buckeye Central School District, serving as an intervention specialist for high school students in grades 9 through 12. Reinhart also co-teaches in core subject areas for high school grades 9-10, teaches resource English and Mathematics for grades 9-11, implements individualized plans for students with special needs, collaborates with high school staff to help students achieve individual goals, and handles all the paperwork that goes with it.
For her work as an educator through the pandemic, Reinhart was presented with a blue CBJ helmet adorned with the OhioHealth logo and signed by captain Nick Foligno during Saturday night's Kids Takeover game.

Reinhart, a Blue Jackets season ticket holder, also took the time to fill out this questionnaire on her job responsibilities as well as her work during the pandemic.
Can you describe how your job has changed during the pandemic? At the end of last year, we went remote like all other districts. This was difficult as I was unable to interact with my students on a daily basis. I had Zoom meetings with them and called their parents once a week to see how I could support them. This school year we have been lucky enough to be in person. However, the masks make it difficult to get to know students (I am used to being able to read facial expressions to help them when they get frustrated), and limits on what we are allowed to give to students are a barrier to developing coping skills for the students that struggle to focus.
Teaching has really done a 180 this past year. We have had to adjust almost everything about our teaching styles with no guides and no time to prepare.
Any additional information you would like to offer? Overall, students have been awesome adjusting to the circumstances.
