The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have placed forward Brandon Saad on injured reserve (right ankle), retroactive to Dec. 19.

Saad is second on the team with 11 goals and has 19 points this season.
The Blackhawks take on the Colorado Avalanche this evening at 8:00 p.m. at the Pepsi Center in Denver. That game can be seen on NBC Sports Chicago Plus, streamed on NBCSportsChicago.com and on the My Teams by NBC Sports app and heard on WGN Radio.
