The Blackhawks extended their win streak to six games by defeating the Islanders 2-1 in a shootout on Friday night at the United Center. They have won 11 of their last 12 games. Chicago improved to 3-1 in shootouts this season and 8-4-2 against the Metropolitan Division. Artemi Panarin recorded the game-tying goal in the third period, and Jonathan Toews netted the game-deciding goal in the shootout. Corey Crawford stopped 31 shots for his third consecutive victory. He is now 25-13-3 this season and has earned victories in seven of his last eight appearances.
