The 2022 Stanley Cup Final between the Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lighting continues on Saturday night with Game 2 scheduled with a 6 p.m. MT puck drop at Ball Arena. The Avalanche lead the best-of-seven series 1-0.

RECAP OF GAME 1:

In Game 1 on Wednesday night, the Avalanche defeated the Lightning in overtime with a final score of 4-3. Andre Burakovsky scored the game winning goal on assist from Valeri Nichushkin 83 seconds into overtime.
Nichushkin paced the Avs with two points (1G, 1A) and recorded a game-high of six shots on goal. Gabriel Landeskog (1G, 1A) and Mikko Rantanen (2A) also put up two points to compliment Nichushkin. Darren Helm led the defensive charge with 10 hits in the game.
For Tampa Bay, Nick Paul, Ondrej Palat, Mikhail Sergachev scored. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 34 saves on 38 shots. Mikhail Sergachev led with six hits and four blocked shots. Pat Maroon and Alex Killorn followed him up with five hits each. The team also benefitted from the return of Brayden Point to the lineup, as he played for the first time since Game 7 of the First Round against Toronto after being sidelined with a lower-body injury.
